    Contract staff held in Wasit Thermal Power Station, one of the largest electricity production plants in Iraq, on Wednesday, a protest in front of the station administration building protesting the lack of confirmation on the permanent staffing, and while accusing the Ministry of Electricity to "lack of commitment" promises, Wasit Provincial Council confirmed that The ministry would give ten days and otherwise resort to other options. 
    One employee said, Ali Hussein, in an interview with the (range), " The contract employees in Wasit thermal station and the more than 900 employees between engineers, technicians and craftsmen spread over its divisions are all different and heart action is not proofed on the permanent staffing , despite the length of contractual their period," noting that " the decision taken by such staff is currently the protest but it may evolve and up to a case of sit and strike action could lead to the station stopped entirely." 
    Hussein demanded the Ministry of Electricity to "accelerate install these employees on the permanent staffing because they are running the plant at the present time." 
    For his part, one of the staff, Murtaza Shakir, told the (range), said that "this stance are beginning to point a big shift in the work of this station , which is one of the largest power plants in the country due to lack of seriousness of the ministry in the installation of the contract - holders on the permanent staffing ". 
    Shaker added that "contract employees received in the previous assurances and pledges big by officials in the Ministry of Electricity on proofed or transferred to operating contracts , but the ministry did nothing so far." 
    In turn, stressed the head of the Economic Committee in the province of Wasit Oribi Zamili, in an interview with the (range), " The provincial council stands strongly with the demands of this segment , which is working on the station 's operation and the provision of electricity to the citizens , " pointing out that " the Council the ministry would give ten days to install these employees on the permanent staffing and otherwise would have another pause could reach the station received and supervise the management rather than the ministry. " 
    The Wasit thermal plant located in hand Zubaydiah consisting of six generating units, four of which power each of which 310 MW and two other two units each with a capacity 610 MW have been set up this station by the Chinese company Shanghai.
