[ltr]Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Suzan al-Saad, of the Fadhila bloc called to transfer the investigation case over the prisoners’ escape from Taji and Abu Ghraib prisons to the office of the General Commander of the Armed Forces, Nouri al-Maliki.[/ltr]
[ltr]In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com, she said “The escape of more than 500 prisoners in such an organized operation is the most dangerous threat to the national security since the US Troops’ withdrawal from Iraq.”[/ltr]
[ltr]“Providing the security out of the prison is the responsibility of the security forces especially the Federal Forces and according to the statement of the Defense Minister the 120 Police elements who were protecting the side that the prisoners escaped from, were not in their location except one officer and two policemen which assures that the terrorists are aware of the security measures around the prison,” she added.[/ltr]
[ltr]“Targeting the prisons by 100 missiles needs long time and it was enough for the security forces to support the guards where it is not possible to take that long time for the security forces to arrive to the prisons,” she pointed out, stressing the necessity of “Referring the investigation to Maliki’s office because the Intelligence system is unable to settle this issue.”[/ltr]
