    The Muthanna government on Wednesday granted civilians and clans in all areas of the province only two weeks to hand over their heavy and medium weapons.
    "The decisions of the security committee in the province are clear and explicit, a message to the people of Al-Muthanna province, which we call on them to implement the orders to remove the medium and heavy pulses with continuous campaigns covering all parts of the province without," Muthanna governor Faleh al-Ziadi said during a meeting with the Higher Security Committee in the province.     "We are looking for medium and heavy weapons (launchers, mortars, single guns, hand grenades)," he said, adding that "light weapons are not intended for security and inspection campaigns at present. "The security forces have found these weapons already within the cities."
    "These disarmament campaigns are the implementation of the orders of the Iraqi central government, specifically the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Haider Abadi, and not personal decisions by the government of Muthanna," he said, noting that "the province enjoys a stable security situation and we must preserve these So we ask all citizens to cooperate to achieve the goal of these central decisions.     A recorded video of one of the Muthanna tribal elders threatens the security services to continue the process of withdrawing weapons, pointing out that his clan will clash with the state and take away the security file inside the province.
