Arbil/ Iraq TradeLink: Fears are circulating among the Kurdish citizens that Turkey and Iran will close their borders to prevent their commodities from entering the region following the setting of the referendum's date in September next, but Kurdish official trade personalities did not expect such a move.

The Kurdish region is one of the main markets that import Turkish and Iranian commodities, with expected billions of dollars in trade exchange.

Economic experts believe that such moves will affect Turkey and Iran before the Kurdish region.

On the other hand, Turkey announced readiness to mediate between Baghdad and Arbil, but excluded closing the borders till discussions are held with the Kurdish officials on the referendum, pointing that this move is a "mistake".
