Al-Sadr agreed with Saudi Arabia to exploit investment opportunities in Iraq

Sadr's office on Tuesday issued a statement on Sadr's visit to Saudi Arabia and its results, stressing that the latter agreed with Saudi Arabia to exploit investment opportunities in Iraq and contribute to the development of southern and central regions.
"During his visit to Saudi Arabia, al-Sadr discussed means of enhancing cooperation between the two countries in various fields, exploiting investment opportunities in Iraq and contributing to the development of southern and central Iraq," the ministry said in a statement.
He added that "the results of the visit also discussed humanitarian assistance to displaced people and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques issued an order to provide 10 million dollars extra to the assistance provided by the Iraqi government, and the opening of a consulate general in Najaf facilitate communication between the two countries, , And the speed of opening the border crossings to promote trade exchange between the two countries and the opening of the Jamiyamiyah crossing with Najaf.
"The Saudi side expressed its desire to appoint a new ambassador for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Baghdad to improve the level of relations," the office said.
"The two sides agreed to adopt a moderate media and religious speech calling for peaceful coexistence," he said, referring to "discussing bilateral relations with neighboring countries and emphasizing the stability of the region."
The leader of the Sadrist movement, Moqtada al-Sadr, arrived in Saudi Arabia on Sunday after receiving an official invitation to visit. He was received upon his arrival in Jeddah by Minister of State for Gulf Affairs Thamer al-Sbahan.
During the meeting, Al-Sadr met during his visit to Saudi Arabia, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and discussed during the meeting the political situation in the region and bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
