Indonesia's Pertamina, a government firm, has said it wants to participate in the development of oil fields in Southwest Iran.

According to a report by the Iranian Oil Ministry on Saturday, the director of Pertamina Indonesia "Elia Massa Manik" has announced the company's endeavor to participate in the development and exploration in both fields.

He pointed out that Pertamina had asked the Minister of Coordination (Indonesian Economic Affairs) to accelerate the procedures in this regard.

He explained that the focus in the beginning, will be confined to one field and the subject of the second field will be postponed to the next stage.

Massa Manik predicted the two fields would have a production capacity of 250,000 barrels per day. Pointing out that negotiations are underway with the Iranian side regarding their development.
