Oil agrees with Chevron to develop southern fields

The oil ministry announced on Sunday that the state-run Basra Oil Company has agreed with Chevron to implement a memorandum of understanding to develop fields in the south of the country.
"Executive officials from the two companies have signed an agreement setting out the outline of a field development program that includes studies of reservoir survey and extraction," a ministry statement said.
Oil Minister Jabbar al-Luaibi announced in June that Basra oil and another state-run company, Dhi Qar Oil Company, had signed a memorandum of understanding with Chevron.
The memorandum of understanding allows Chevron to conduct surveys and studies on oil sites and installations and to assist the two Iraqi companies in improving their technical, administrative and financial performance. Ending / 25
