Ambassador of Qatar to Italy: No military escalation in the Gulf region

The Qatari ambassador to Italy ruled out the possibility of a military escalation in the crisis of his country and the Gulf States, pointing out that his country is a founding state of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
"I do not think so because we all belong to the Gulf Cooperation Council and Qatar is a founding state of the council," said Ambassador Abdul Aziz bin Ahmed al-Maliki.
In an interview with Italian state television, the Qatari diplomat stressed that his country "expressed its readiness for dialogue from the first day of the Gulf crisis."
He added: "The claims of the countries of the blockade of Qatar's support for terrorism is null and void", and we "challenge us to four countries to provide us with one document to prove this charge."
The Qatari ambassador to Rome said that "confronting the problem of terrorism requires collective action, as no single country can confront terrorism on its own."
On the fate of Qatari foreign investments, the Qatari diplomat said that his country will continue to "invest in all foreign countries."
