    25 civil society organizations and associations in Iraq have called for amending the provincial elections law and adopting a fair system for calculating votes and distributing seats (the original Saint Lego). While calling for reducing the age of candidacy to 25 years of age, And adopting a quota approach. 
    A statement issued by a number of organizations and associations in Iraq and received the "range" a copy of it, "voted the Iraqi Council of Representatives, on 46 of the 53 articles in the draft law on elections provincial councils and districts, including Article (12 / I) St. Lego Amendment), which adopted 1.7% in the distribution of seats, while the Council has not completed voting on the rest of the law to date.
    The statement considered the amendment "a fraud against the democratic system, because it confiscates the votes and desires of the voters, violates the Constitution and is contrary to the principles of democracy, and reflects the desire to retain power shown by the powerful forces within the House of Representatives." 
    The statement warned of "the growing pursuit of exclusivity and the power of the powerful blocs, and the adoption of the approach of quotas in the selection of a new Council of the Electoral Commission."
    The bill called for "the amendment of the provincial elections law, the adoption of a fair system for the counting of votes and the distribution of seats (the original Saint Lego), the age of candidacy in the draft law to 25 years for wider representation of youth, While ensuring the participation of all Iraqi people in the elections by adopting the most accurate information and data to update the voter register, forming an independent electoral commission, away from the quotas approach, adopting specific criteria to ensure the selection of neutral, efficient and fair elements and international supervision of the upcoming elections, Operation ".
    The statement was signed by the Tammuz Organization for Social Development, the Iraqi Election Monitoring Network, the Humanity Organization, the Shams Network for Election Observation, the Iraqi Amal Association, the General Student Union of the Republic of Iraq, the Strategic Studies Center, the Mesopotamia Organization, Human Rights Defenders, Iraqi Democratic Youth League, Iraqi Women's Association, Freedom of Press Association, Masarat Media Development Foundation. Iraqi Association for Human Rights - Baghdad, Al-Rafidain Association for Human Rights in Iraq, Syndicate of Jurists, Iraqi Association for Human Rights, Baghdad National journalists.
