    [rtl]1. Drafting Committee of the Iraqi Constitution of 2005: 
     Under Article 61 (a) of the Iraqi State Administration Law for the transitional period, which indicated that the Iraqi National Assembly elected a committee to draft the Iraqi constitution.  

    2. The date of formation of the committee: 
    The Iraqi National Assembly voted 19 on 10/5/2005 to form a committee to write the draft Iraqi constitution. The committee obtained 142 votes out of 161 votes. 

    3. The number of members of the Committee: (55) deputies were added (15) members to draft the permanent constitution of Iraq. 

    4. Composition of the Committee: 
    1. (28) deputies for the list of the United Iraqi Alliance. 
    2. (15) deputies for the list of the Kurdistan Alliance. 
    3. (8) deputies of the Iraqi List. 
    4. (4) Basic components. 
    5. (15) members of the social spectrum sections of the elections.

    5. Chair of the Iraqi Constitution Drafting Committee: 
    1. Member of the United Iraqi Alliance List Sheikh Hammam Hamoudi as Chairman of the Committee. 
    2. Member of the Kurdistan Alliance List Dr. Fuad Masoum as Vice-Chairman of the Committee. 

    6. Meetings of the Committee: 
     The Committee for Writing the Draft Constitution of Iraq Thirty-three meetings for the period from 24/5/2005 to 8/8/2005.  

    7. Sub-Committees in the Drafting Committee of the Iraqi Constitution:  
    1. Committee of Basic Principles. 
    2. Committee on Rights, Duties and Public Freedoms. 
    3. Committee form the system and federal state institutions. 
    4. Committee of the institutions of the regional government. 
    5. Committee of Federal Government Institutions. 
    6. Final and Transitional Provisions Committee. 

    8. Summary of the meetings of the Iraqi Constitution Preparation Committee: The Committee discussed the following prominent topics:
    1. Structure and formulation of the Constitution and the possibilities available to the Committee. 
    2. Make Iraq federal, federal and specific to the Kurdistan Region from the rest of the regions. 
    3. Agreement on the formation of the dialogue committee to discuss matters related and controversial. 
    4. Research on the issue of Kirkuk and the de-Baathification Commission. 
    5. Federal Court for the crimes of the former regime and the Constitutional Court. 
    6. The exclusive powers of the Federal Government and independent entities. 

    9. Presenting the draft Iraqi Constitution to the National Assembly, as follows:   
    1. Confirmation of the National Assembly to write a constitution to serve Iraq. 
     2. The National Assembly voted in its resolution 55 on 15/8/2005 on the decision to amend paragraph (a) of Article (61) of the Transitional Administrative Law as follows: (The National Assembly shall write the draft permanent constitution no later than August 22, 2005) .
    2. On 28 August 2005, the National Assembly concluded its first reading of the draft Iraqi constitution. 

    10. Role of the United Nations Representation in Iraq in drafting the Iraqi Constitution: 
    The United Nations Representation in Iraq presented technical, legal and constitutional expertise to the Drafting Committee of the Constitution.[/rtl]
