[rtl]"Five months of fighting against terrorist elements in the southern Philippines have ended," the defense minister said.[/rtl]
[rtl]"We declare the end of all combat operations in Marawi, where more than 1,000 people have been killed in the fighting," Delphin said on the sidelines of a regional security meeting in the northern Philippine city of Clark.[/rtl]
[rtl]"There are no more resistance activists there after a final battle," he said.[/rtl]
[rtl]"These are the last group of Maoist extremists who have been caught in one building so there has been an exchange of fire to eliminate them," he said. "They are all terrorists fighting soldiers."[/rtl]
