The Ministry of Electricity confirmed that there was an increase in the hours of electricity supply to citizens.
"The current winter will witness stability in the processing of electricity in Baghdad and the rest of the provinces," ministry spokesman Musab al-Mudar said in a press statement on Sunday.
He added that "there is an increase in the number of hours of electricity supply, because of the low loads and rationalize energy consumption by citizens."
He explained that "the entry of investment companies in the field of energy has also contributed to the increase in processing hours."
He said that "the ministry has procedures in Baghdad and other provinces to collect electricity wages from citizens, and take legal action against those who refrain from paying."
He pointed out that "the ministry has electrical stations have not yet entered the service, but they are ready to work when needed," adding that "the increase in loads in the winter will be offset by the introduction of new electrical units to compensate for the shortage of energy."
The Ministry of Electricity announced last October, the conclusion of two contracts for the construction of solar power stations investment in the provinces of Babylon and Anbar, after the ministry has concluded two contracts to install and operate four photovoltaic stations working on solar energy by investing 230 MW in the provinces of Muthanna and Najaf Ashraf.
