[ltr]British Defense Secretary Gavin Williamson said on Thursday that Britons fighting with a raider should be identified, killed, and not allowed back into the country.[/ltr]
[ltr]"Simply, my opinion is that a dead terrorist can not harm Britain," Williamson told the Daily Mail newspaper. "Everything must be done to destroy and eliminate this threat.[/ltr]
[ltr]Williamson also promised to track down the fighters who fled to countries other than Syria and Iraq and prevent them from returning to Britain.[/ltr]
[ltr]"There must be no safe space for them," he said, stressing that "they can not go to other countries to spread their hatred and the culture of death."[/ltr]
[ltr]The defense minister's comments came after a 20-year-old man appeared before a court Wednesday on charges of plotting to assassinate British Prime Minister Theresa May in a bomb and knife attack.[/ltr]
[ltr]Na'imur Zakaria Rahman was charged with plotting to detonate a bomb in front of the May headquarters in Downing Street and then attempt to enter the building with a suicide jacket and a knife to kill her.[/ltr]
[ltr]Rahman is accused of preparing for terrorist operations, and of helping another man, Muhammad Aqab Omran, to plan separate terrorist operations.[/ltr]
