    [rtl]BRUSSELS - The Prime Minister of Britain and the European Commission reached an agreement on three key issues that hampered the BRICT talks between the two sides, paving the way for the start of the second phase of the talks.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]Theresa May and Jean-Claude Juncker reached a settlement on Friday about how the UK would pay the pre-emptive bill before separating from the European Union. The two groups reached a compromise on the rights of British citizens and Ireland's borders.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]Earlier this week, the failure to reach a full agreement on the first phase talks on leaving the UK was announced. [/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The BRICs are now scheduled to move on to the second phase of trade agreements.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The first phase of the negotiations was seen as the most difficult route to negotiations for Britain's exit from the EU.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The EU members are due to ratify the settlement on Thursday at a summit in Brussels.[/rtl]
