The Liberation Tunnel reopened for the first time since 2003

Baghdad Municipality opened the Liberation Tunnel in central Baghdad, which has been closed since 2003 after its rehabilitation. The Directorate of Media and Communications said in a statement that "the Secretary of Baghdad accompanied by Minister of Culture Farid Rwandzi and Baghdad Operations Commander in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Municipality of Baghdad for Municipal Affairs and Director General of the municipality of Rusafa opened tunnel tunnel, which is one of the most important commercial centers in the heart of the capital Baghdad after its closure since 2003." She added that "the technical and service staff in the municipality of the center of Rusafa cleaned and maintained and rehabilitated Tunnel liberation in conjunction with the celebrations of the annual Baghdad Day and celebrations of the day of victory on the remnants of the terrorist Daash."
She pointed out that "the Municipality Department has maintained the sewer lines, tunnel garden and hybrids, as well as maintenance of damaged walls and lighting system and electric control panels."
She explained that "the secretariat of Baghdad agreed with the Baghdad Operations Command to reopen two tunnel outlets out of (6) outlets, and the other outlets will be opened in succession."
