US President Donald Trump on Sunday echoed protests in Iran to denounce corruption and high prices.
"The Iranians are well aware that their money is stolen and squandered on terror ... It seems that they will not tolerate this situation for a long time," Trump said on Twitter, "The United States is watching the situation closely to record human rights abuses."
The US president's comment comes at a time when protests in Iran are widening. As it reached its fourth day to more than 40 Iranian cities, according to the information of the National Council of Resistance of Iran.
The security forces used excessive force in the face of the protesters, killing two of them in the west of the country, and dozens of wounded and arrested dozens of others, after the government considered the demonstrations illegal gatherings.
"Repressive regimes can not last forever and will come today when the Iranian people face their choices," Trump said on Saturday.
Protests began in the northeastern city of Mashhad on Thursday to protest against the high prices of some commodities.
