    The Iraqi Observatory for Press Freedoms in the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate welcomed the statement issued by the office of Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on the backdrop of abuses of journalists in Najaf during Abadi's visit to the city.

     The Observatory called for a press statement to the Prime Minister "practical measures to enhance confidence among journalists, the media and the government to overcome the failures of the press file and strengthen the role of the media in the next stage with the approaching date of constitutional entitlements important in the forefront of the elections."

     
    The head of the Observatory Hadi Glow Mari said "the importance of the procedures to be practical and beyond the language of statements and statements, especially that the decisions and positions of the Prime Minister confirms good intentions and desire to protect the real journalists and greater seriousness in lifting restrictions on the media and prevent the recurrence of attacks on correspondents and photographers covering the events especially With the infiltration of some security elements and the protection of officials and blatant abuse of journalists and media workers who can not protect themselves and are exposed to daily violations without the possibility of stopping them.

     The media office of Abadi stressed that the media colleagues and their professional work is the focus of our respect and appreciation, expressing his categorical rejection of any treatment that harms them and their work.


    He said in a statement that what happened in the holy city of Najaf during the transfer of the celebration of victory in the great province is being investigated and the body that has done, and that the Prime Minister follows up the investigation himself, stressing his rejection of any attack on any media or journalist or any citizen and not tolerate with Proves his transgression and shortcoming against the media.
