    The Dhi Qar Police Command revealed a high rate of suicide by 31% and traffic accidents of 16%, while noting the decrease in crimes of kidnapping, theft, criminal and terrorist crimes, called for the adoption of government and community programs effective to reduce suicides through the cooperation of government institutions, researchers, academics and civil society organizations.
    The head of the Supreme Security Committee, Governor of Dhi Qar Yahya Naciri in his speech during the seventh annual security and criminal reality conference held by the police leadership in cooperation with the Court of Appeal of Dhi Qar Federal Hall in the hall of the municipality of Nasiriyah and attended by the extent that "security data recorded during the past year indicate a decline In the rates of terrorist crimes to converge zero, where Dhi Qar recorded only one terrorist incident and was outside its cities, as well as a marked decline in the rates of criminal crime of various kinds. 
    Naciri explained that "achieving success in this complex area shows the continuous effort to activate the work of the formations and security services and perseverance and the efforts of officers and associates and fruitful and sincere cooperation of the judiciary in the Court of Appeal Dhi Qar Federal, as well as members of the community as well as the continuous update of security plans in accordance with data and security requirements on the ground "
    For its part, the police leadership said in a statement issued after the conference of the security and criminal reality that "the security and criminal reality conference held by the police leadership in cooperation with the Federal Court of Appeal Dhi Qar aims to raise the achievements and activities of the police Dhi Qar and display the number of crimes recorded and judicially defeated during 2017 and compared with similar Of the recorded and debilitated crimes in 2016 and to investigate the reasons that led to the increase or decrease rates of those crimes. " 
    "The year 2017 recorded a decline in the rates of serious criminal crimes, including murder by 8 percent, kidnapping crimes 22 percent and thefts 14 percent compared to 2016," the leadership said. 
    Noting that "the recorded crimes in 2017 the past amounted to 5431 crimes, of which 4978 were found to be a crime, as the proportion of crimes discovered 91% of the total recorded crimes."
    "Suicide cases remain an emergency and a surprise in our society, with a 31 per cent increase in 2017," the police command said, noting that suicides accounted for 59 suicide cases in 2017, down from 45 in 2016.

    The police leadership attributed the increase in traffic accidents to a number of reasons, including the high speed of some drivers, the lack of compliance with traffic laws and rules, and the lack of concentration of drivers during driving because of busy mobile phone or feeling tired and tired especially on the days of occasions as well as the quality of vehicles and lack of durability and safety conditions.
