    [ltr]A military Apache helicopter crashed early Saturday morning in California, killing two soldiers, a US military spokesman said.[/ltr]
    [ltr]Army spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Jason Brown said in a statement that an investigation was underway into the cause of the crash at the National Training Center in Fort Irwin, southern California.[/ltr]
    [ltr]Another army spokesman said the pilot and his aide were killed but did not name them, explaining that their families had not been informed yet.[/ltr]
    [ltr]The army base at Fort Carson was in Fort Carson, Colorado, and the plane was in routine training at the base in the Mojave desert, said Army spokeswoman Grand Jill Fort Carson.[/ltr]
