"The Americans are about to divide Syria," he said, referring to the formation of a Kurdish state east of the Euphrates.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran supports the territorial unity of Syria and rejects any aggression on Syrian soil," Ali Akbar Velayati told reporters.
"Our advice is that the international borders should be respected and that the Syrian people themselves, with the help of their friends, Hezbollah and its allies, expel America from the east of the Euphrates, and they are in the process of dividing the Syrian territories. This dream will not come true. "
