The Israeli authorities continue to build a concrete wall on its border with Lebanon, despite the latter's protests, claiming that it infringes Lebanese sovereignty.[/ltr]

[ltr]Israel says the barrier is intended to prevent the entry of fighters from Lebanese territory.[/ltr]
[ltr]The visit comes as US envoy David Satterfield, who is leading US mediation between the two sides, is visiting Tel Aviv on the issue of the wall and the dispute over the maritime border.[/ltr]
[ltr]The Lebanese authorities consider that the Israeli wall on the border affects Lebanese sovereignty.[/ltr]
[ltr]The Lebanese president, Michel Aoun, said Beirut was following up contacts to counter Israeli ambitions on Lebanese land and water.[/ltr]
[ltr]For his part, Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman, while speaking of the conflict, accused the Iranian-backed Hezbollah group of provocation. He said Israel had withdrawn to the internationally recognized international border with Lebanon and was facing an objection to a wall "on Israeli soil." According to him.[/ltr]
[ltr]In the past, the Israeli army said the construction was taking place on land "subject to Israeli sovereignty."[/ltr]
