Direct : International Monetary Fund warned of the possible US decision on imposing restrictions on imports of steel and aluminum.
The International Organization said in a statement on Friday that the restrictions on imports announced by US President Donald Trump would likely result in damage to the economy not only outside the United States but within Washington itself.
The United States is due to announce the details of possible fees on steel and aluminum imports next week, according to a White House statement released on Tuesday.
The US manufacturing and construction sectors will have the biggest impact as they are the main users of aluminum and steel, the statement said.
For his part, US President Donald Trump, in a tweet on Twitter yesterday, welcomed a trade war that he can easily win as long as it serves the interests of his country.
The statement called on the United States to work with its partners in a constructive manner to reduce trade barriers between them.
