Report: Trump will announce the imposition of duties on steel orders

Direct : According to press reports that the US President will announce on Thursday tight tariffs on imports of steel and aluminum, the decision facing the world wide objections.
Donald Trump told his aides that he wanted to announce tariffs of 25 percent for steel and 10 percent for aluminum from all countries, according to sources familiar with the matter to the unnamed Bloomberg agency on Thursday.
That was higher than the US Commerce Department announced in mid-month, when it said it planned to charge 24 percent for steel shipments to the United States and 7.7 percent for aluminum imports.
One source said details of the resolution could change, and some countries could be exempt from tariffs.
For its part, China responded to US proposals announced last month that it will take the necessary means to protect its rights, noting that the United States already has a high protection on domestic products of iron and steel.
