    [ltr]Russian troops at the Humaimim air base foiled an attack by unmanned aircraft at dawn on Saturday, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.[/ltr]
    [ltr]And the largest military base in the Syrian territory, and located in the countryside of the city of Jbalah in the province of Latakia.[/ltr]
    [ltr]The observatory did not reveal who had orchestrated the attack but referred to a similar attack on Jan. 7 on the same base carried out by unmanned aircraft belonging to an Islamic faction working in the northeastern Latakia countryside.[/ltr]
    [ltr]According to Russian official sources, the January attack did not lead to any human or material damage, but press reports said that a number of Russian aircraft inside the base of Hamimim damaged.[/ltr]
    [ltr]The drone attacks on military sites belonging to the Russian forces or to the Syrian regime are not new in Syria. Several areas have witnessed targeted attacks in the past, most notably in the city of Raqqa and its villages and Deir al-Zour in 2017.[/ltr]
    [ltr]The organization "Dahesh" uses UAV, to target the international coalition forces or Syrian forces, during the Battle of Raqqa, according to the Observatory.[/ltr]
