The economic and social problems in Iraq worsened after 2003, and this reflected the psychological state of citizens and contributed to the fragmentation of Iraqi society.
In light of this, the Supreme Judicial Council in Iraq recognized the high percentage of divorce cases nationwide in 2017 at a serious rate.
The Supreme Judicial Council in Iraq said in a statistical report that all Iraqi courts registered during the last year 2017 about (70097) divorce cases, the highest compared to previous years.
The Council added that according to the statistics, Baghdad has reached the two sides of Karkh and Rusafa in the first place, compared to the rest of the provinces through the registration of divorce cases.
