[ltr]Turkish media have published a picture that they say is showing for the first time, and confirms the presence of French troops alongside US forces in the city of Manbj in the countryside of Aleppo, northwest of Syria.[/ltr]
[ltr]The newspaper "Hurriyet" Turkish, the picture shows the presence of a French armored personnel carrier and carrying the flag of the French lead a joint patrol with US forces in the city of Manbj.[/ltr]
[ltr]The newspaper quoted Syrian sources as saying that the number of French soldiers stationed in Manbaj is 50 soldiers.[/ltr]
[ltr]Shurfan Darwish, a spokesman for the Qanad-e-Munbaj military council, said Tuesday that the United States and France were establishing a new military base in Manbaj, Syria.[/ltr]
[ltr]Darwish pointed out that "the new French American base is equipped on the northern line of Mnbj, to add to the existing bases in the west of the city, while conducting ground patrols and air to monitor and protect the region."[/ltr]
