    [rtl]WASHINGTON - The US newspaper The Washington Times has revealed a US plan to push NATO to send more troops to Iraq.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The newspaper said in a report that the Pentagon is working on a plan to make NATO participate in the military presence inside Iraq, saying that US Defense Secretary James Matisse intends to present the plan at the NATO meeting in Brussels.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The plan would reshape Iraq's mission to a longer-term mission and make it more multi-national, similar to operations in Afghanistan, she said, quoting US officials.[/rtl]
