    BAGHDAD / The Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council held a meeting in Baghdad on Sunday to discuss seven important economic files, most notably the development of Arar and Gemayma and the establishment of the sports city dedicated to Saudi Arabia.
    The council said in a statement that "a meeting was held at the guest house attended by the national coordinator of the coordination team of the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers Mehdi Alalak and the representatives of the relevant bodies of the General Authorities of Customs, Ahmed Al Harbi and representatives of the Ministry of Trade and Investment, and the Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality.
    The statement added that "the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers reviewed the agreement for the development of border implementers Arar and Gemima, and the project of perfusion in the province of Muthanna, as well as agreement on the establishment of the sports city donated by the Saudi king."
    He pointed out that "the meeting witnessed a discussion on the most important memorandums of understanding to be signed with Saudi Arabia, the previous procedures for the memorandums of understanding reached, and the mechanisms to follow them up to be signed at the joint meeting to be held in Baghdad in April."
    The statement added that "the participants discussed the process of inventory of goods for the study of exemption from customs and taxes, and the adoption of certificates of ratification and identify the bodies responsible for the energy, transport and agriculture to facilitate the issuance of certificates for projects and the priorities of the Coordination Council for the years 2019-2020."
