Iraqis top the list of foreign investors with Turkish citizenship

[rtl]The General Directorate of Souls and Citizenship Affairs of Turkey, revealed the number of investors who have Turkish citizenship through investment, under the recent amendments in this regard.[/rtl]
[rtl]Turkish foreigners received 2611 foreign citizenship in one year, and Iraqi investors topped the list of foreigners with Turkish citizenship during this period.[/rtl]
[rtl]With the new legal amendments to the Turkish Citizenship Law, foreign investments in the immovable property sector, such as real estate and houses, have increased, with sales of homes to foreigners increasing by 50 percent in the first 8 months of this year, compared with the same period of 2018 , To 27,748 houses.[/rtl]
[rtl]With regard to the distribution of foreign countries with Turkish citizenship during this period, 327 Iraqi investors obtained Turkish citizenship, 240 Afghans, 170 Palestinians, 110 Egyptians, 66 Libyans, 44 Lebanese, 29 Saudis, 28 Azerbaijanis, 26 Pakistanis, 24 Sudanese and 22 Russians. , 21 Algerians, and 19 Americans.[/rtl]
[rtl]Investors from Germany, Venezuela, France, Syria, Poland, Australia, the UAE, India and Canada also acquired Turkish citizenship.[/rtl]
[rtl]The foreign investors' acquisition of Turkish citizenship comes within the framework of a law published in the Official Gazette on September 19, 2018, on granting foreign investors Turkish citizenship if they invest in the immovable sector at least $ 1 million and $ 2 million in fixed capital.[/rtl]
[rtl]However, the Turkish government later reduced the value in the fixed capital sector from $ 2 million to $ 500,000 and in the immovable sector from $ 1 million to $ 250,000.[/rtl]
[rtl]According to another amendment in the same law, a foreign investor is entitled to acquire Turkish citizenship if he buys after the date of this amendment another property owned by a Turkish person or company, even if his former owner is a foreigner.[/rtl]
