The United States of America denied, today, Thursday, that the Pentagon has issued any document that talks about the deaths of the American army at Ain Al-Assad base in western Iraq.
The American base was subjected to an Iranian missile attack about a week ago, in response to the assassination of the commander of the Quds Force in the Revolutionary Guards, Qassem Soleimani, in an air strike near Baghdad International Airport.
Initially, the official Iranian media said that the Iranian strike had caused "dozens of Americans dead", but later retreated and indicated that the attack avoided causing casualties.
Days after the strike, Iraqi pro-Iranian Iraqi media released a document attributed to the Freedom of Information Department of the Ministry of Defense, alleging 139 deaths at Ain al-Assad base.
The document was signed by James Hogan, head of the department.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
