, the resigned prime minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi, revealed on Tuesday that there is no real movement to nominate a new head of government.
Abdul-Mahdi said, in a speech to him during the regular cabinet session: "We have been asking for two months for a new prime minister to be appointed and there is no real movement to end and resolve this file."
He added: "We refuse to blame the government for the events that Iraq is going through," asking parliament and political forces to "present a candidate for prime minister as soon as possible."
And on the foreign presence in Iraq, Abdul-Mahdi said: "We started to implement the parliament's decision to remove foreign forces from Iraq," calling on everyone to "respect the sovereignty of Iraq and not to interfere in its internal affairs." End 6/6 N
