Member of the House of Representatives revealed a coalition of state law Mansour Al-Baiji, for a meeting that he accompanied with 25 deputies with President of the Republic Barham Saleh before traveling to Switzerland to participate in the Davos Economic Forum, noting that Saleh told them that he was waiting for the largest bloc to agree on a specific candidate.
Al-Baiji said in a televised interview followed by "leaks news" that "the reason for the delay in naming a new prime minister is the President of the Republic and Parliament."
He added: "Parliament had to host the President of the Republic to know the reasons for not naming a new Prime Minister, and to know who are the blocs pressing the President regarding the new government."
And between Al-Baiji, he “attended a meeting with 25 deputies with the President of the Republic before traveling to Switzerland, and we asked him about 3 names (Ali Shukri, Muhammad Allawi, and Mustafa Al-Kazemi), and he did not nominate any of them formally while he was waiting for the largest bloc to agree on a specific candidate ”
Al-Baiji confirmed that he possesses information indicating that “the closest candidate to be appointed to the position of prime minister is Mustafa Al-Kazemi,” criticizing “sticking to the biggest bloc after the resigned Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi came without it.”
Al-Baiji added: “We asked the President of the Republic to put 4-5 candidates in front of the House of Representatives so that one of them can gain the confidence of the Council.” He pointed out that “there are 5 leaders who control the fate of 35 million Iraqis and they are the ones who complicate matters and the President of the Republic surrenders to them and what is required is to liberate them and this is what we informed him Directly when we meet him. ”
He pointed out that "the political blocs insist on adopting quotas and sharing the spoils and imposing their conditions on any candidate for prime minister, and this is what complicated matters," stressing that "all parties do not respect the will and blood of the Iraqi people."
He added: "Whoever says that he has authorized the president of the republic is not honest, those who press and object to want more gains than they have before supporting this or that candidate."
And between Al-Baiji: “We believe that others support the candidate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi for prime minister, and we in the state of law support with the conquest of the candidate Ali Shukri to assume the same position,” stressing that “no candidate will pass without the approval of others,” calling on political forces to “enable the Iraqi people to Nomination of the candidate for prime minister.
