"We presented a new proposal to resolve the crisis of choosing the prime minister candidate, given that the political leaders have not been able to choose until now," said the deputy of the bloc, Khaled Al-Jashmi, in a press statement, noting that there are four (unnamed) persons who are compatible with them.
"The proposal includes 3 mechanisms for decisiveness. The first is to leave the matter to representatives of the Shiite blocs to elect their deputies nominated for the position similar to the previous sessions during the candidacy of Al-Jaafari and Al-Maliki in his second session, and until the nomination of Adel Abdul-Mahdi, and who obtained the majority of them at that time was paid to the President of the Republic to assign him officially ".
He added: "The second mechanism is that the parliament is the one who chooses a personality from among the deputies unanimously, and the other mechanism is to authorize the president to assign one of the personalities to the position."
He noted: "The proposal was not accepted by political leaders."
The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, had given the political blocs a period of four days to resolve the order to nominate the Prime Minister in charge of forming the interim government, which would expire no later than Saturday, February 1, 2020, otherwise he would exercise his constitutional powers by assigning the most acceptable representatives and representatives.
