Today, Monday, National Security Adviser Qassem Al-Araji discussed with the British Ambassador in Baghdad, Mark Bracion Richardson, the latest developments in the political and security situation in Iraq.
The media office of the National Security Adviser said in a statement, "Al-Araji received in his office today, Monday, the British ambassador in Baghdad, Mark Bracson Richardson."
He added, "Al-Araji discussed with the British ambassador the latest developments in the political and security situation, strengthening relations between Baghdad and the United Kingdom, as well as continuing the war on terrorism, to enhance security and stability in the region."
He pointed out that "the two sides discussed the initiative of the Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, to gather the political parties at the dialogue table, find a way out of the political blockage, achieve national consensus, and support the democratic process, under the umbrella of the constitution and the laws in force."
Al-Araji assured the British ambassador, "We have great confidence in the wisdom of the political leaders and their desire for understanding and harmony, to come up with practical solutions that satisfy all parties and serve the people and the state."
