On Saturday, the Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, directed that the two issues of begging be addressed and the issue of (private) vehicles banned from operating as taxis.

The General Secretariat of the Council said in a statement that Alsumaria News obtained a copy of, that "this came during the last cabinet session, as the Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Interior to address the phenomenon of begging, by pursuing gangs that exploit humanitarian issues, and presenting them before the law."

In the context, the statement added, "The General Traffic Directorate has directed to prevent unlicensed (private) vehicles from operating for hire, because taxis possess the license for that."
