Shafaq News / On Tuesday, Vice President of the Iraqi Parliament, Bashir Khalil Al-Haddad, discussed with the Chargé d'Affairs at the French Embassy, Jean Noel Bonyo, ways to expand the volume of economic and cultural cooperation, at a time when Bonyo confirmed that his country is looking forward to implementing large projects in Iraq.
The blacksmith's office said in a statement received by Shafaq News, that "the latter received in his official office in Baghdad the Chargé d'Affairs at the French Embassy in Iraq, Jean Noel Bunio and Leila Marghad, the second advisor to the embassy, in the presence of Representative Alla Talabani, member of the Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee and head of the Iraqi-French Friendship Committee. Discussing developments in the security and political situations on the scene and issues of common concern, as well as ways to expand the volume of economic and cultural cooperation and the future of relations between the two friendly countries.
Al-Haddad stressed "the importance of activating agreements and memoranda of understanding to strengthen and develop historical relations between the two countries on the basis of friendship and respect for sovereignty, and to benefit from the experience of French companies in the reconstruction and implementation of infrastructure projects in the field of energy and transportation."
The deputy speaker of the Iraqi parliament called for "the necessity of exchanging visits between the two sides, especially the representative delegations, between the House of Representatives and the French National Assembly to exchange experiences in the field of legislation and laws."
Talabani touched on "the effective role of the Iraqi-French Friendship Committee in strengthening relations between the two countries."
On his part, Jean-Noel Buoneau expressed his pleasure to meet with the Vice-President of the Council and discuss files and issues of common interest.
He stressed, according to the statement, "the French government's continued support for Iraq in construction and stability, and his country's aspiration to increase cooperation, investment and implement large projects at this stage to include all areas."
