, a member of the Iraqi Economic Council, Ghadeer Al-Attar, proposed, on Wednesday, a new mechanism to support the Iraqi citizen with the ration card items.
"There is a need to change the mechanism of distributing the ration card and converting it from commodities to coupons through the use of the smart targeted subsidy policy," Al-Attar said in a press release.
Al-Attar added, "Through this smart policy, the Iraqi citizen will be able to spend the ration card materials anywhere he pleases."
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, in the middle of last month, directed the Ministry of Trade to continue working to provide ration card materials to the Iraqi citizen.
