On Wednesday, the Border Ports Authority announced that it has seized a waste of more than 38 million dinars of public money at the port of Umm Qasr. The authority stated in a statement that "based on the information received from the monitoring section at the headquarters of the Border Ports Authority, as a result, the port of Umm Qasr Middle Port was able to stop wasting public money of (38 million and 148 thousand) Iraqi dinars as a result of tampering with customs and tax fees for transactions (force Engine) with import (12) wheel type inverters. And she added, "After returning their customs transactions to the customs center and completed by them to restore their accounts and the fraud after re-demarcation was found to be correct." She indicated, "It is working with all its monitoring and auditing joints to review all customs procedures to demonstrate that they do not violate the controls and instructions and preserve public money."
