A statement by his office, which Al-Furat News received a copy of, stated that Mr. Ammar Al-Hakim stressed during the meeting "the importance of developing relations between Moscow and Baghdad at the economic, political and military levels," stressing, "Iraq is open to everyone in a way that guarantees common interests and preserves its sovereignty."
Regarding the early elections, Mr. Ammar al-Hakim reiterated, "that they are fateful and will determine the course of the next stage," noting "the necessity of competing on the basis of programs, and that the elections take place in a safe environment for the candidate and voter in a manner that guarantees the rights of both parties."
