{Local: Al Furat News} A spokesman for the Iranian customs authority confirmed that the joint land border crossings with Iraq are closed to the crossing of Iranian pilgrims to participate in the fortieth anniversary of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
And Ruhullah Latifi explained in a press statement, that, based on the Iraqi government's decision, the transportation of visitors from Iran will be carried out by air, so that the visitors will not go to the land ports.
The spokesman stressed that, in light of the decisions taken in the border provinces with Iraq, visitors will be returned and not allowed to cross.
On the other hand, he stressed that the owners of the Husseini processions must obtain permits from the Arbaeen Visit Authority and the Trade and Industry Organization in the governorates to allow them to cross the necessary foodstuffs such as rice, tea, sugar and others, stressing that "without these permits, these goods will not be allowed to pass."
