The Iraqi government: $73 billion, the volume of trade exchange with Turkey in the last 5 years
Shafaq News/ The Iraqi Minister of Trade, Alaa Al-Jubouri, announced from Istanbul today, Friday, new procedures with Turkey for the entry of investors and businessmen from the private sector between the two countries.
This came in his speech during his participation in the Turkish-Iraqi Business Forum for Investment and Contracting, which started its work today.
In his speech, the minister stressed the importance of returning to regional and joint economic alliances and blocs, as they contribute to the stability of the region, adding that there is a problem in investing resources and the importance of returning to smart investment.
Al-Jubouri noted the importance of the forum in supporting clean industries, adding that the Iraqi government has prepared a plan for coordination and solving all existing problems in this framework.
The minister called on Turkish companies to participate in the reconstruction of cities affected by the war against ISIS, and to invest in the available strategic projects, adding that "Turkish companies and businessmen have experience and potential in this field."
He went on to say: The Republic of Turkey is considered one of the developed countries in the industrial, agricultural, housing, roads, bridges, and services sectors that Iraq can benefit from this experience.
The Minister of Commerce also indicated that the volume of trade exchange between Iraq and Turkey since 2016 and until September of the year 2021 amounted to 73 billion US dollars, despite the global economic conditions that were negatively affected by the Corona pandemic.
