Shafaq News/ The Minister of Industry and Minerals, Manhal Aziz Al-Khabbaz, discussed during his meeting today, Thursday, the Jordanian Minister of Industry and Trade, Youssef Al-Shamali, the latest developments in the procedures for implementing the joint economic city between the two countries, and the follow-up of cooperation and industrial integration agreements between Iraq, Jordan and Egypt.
A statement issued by the Iraqi Ministry of Industry stated that its minister met today with his Jordanian counterpart and discussed a number of files and common issues in the presence of the Undersecretary for Planning Youssef Muhammad Jassem, the scientific advisor to the ministry Ammar Abdullah Al-Janabi, the Director General of the Industrial Cities Authority and the accompanying Jordanian delegation.
The statement added that the two sides discussed the latest developments in the measures taken in the joint economic city project on the border between Iraq and Jordan, with regard to the role of the Iraqi-Jordanian company, the amount of funding allocated for the establishment of the city, exchange mechanisms, how to calculate building values, and determine the rent amounts, provided that they are agreed upon by both parties and that they are less What is possible and according to the directives of the Iraqi Prime Minister.

The two parties also stressed the need to strengthen the Iraqi-Jordanian company with people with experience and expertise and to expedite its procedures because of the city's industrial and economic importance as it is one of the strategic projects for both countries, as well as its contribution to creating job opportunities for the people of the region.
During the meeting, a follow-up to the industrial integration project between Iraq and Jordan and the tripartite cooperation agreements between Iraq, Jordan and Egypt took place.
