    discussed the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, on Thursday, developments in the draft Joint Economic City between Iraq and Jordan and the role of the parties involved in the project, while Minister of Industry Manhal , the baker, the need to take swift action to implement the project and lay the foundations of a sound to work during the next phase and Ptoukitat defined in the light of the directives the interest of the leaders of both countries.

    A statement by the Ministry, which delivered a copy of it to “Al-Nour News”, stated that “the Minister of Industry chaired a deliberative meeting with the Administrative Undersecretary of the Ministry, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Iraqi Jordanian Company for Industry, the Scientific Adviser of the Ministry, the Ministry’s Adviser for Development, the Director General of the Industrial Cities Authority, the Managing Director of the Iraqi-Jordanian Joint Company and members of the company’s board of directors. And a number of officials in the ministry, to discuss the latest developments in the joint economic city project, consultation and deliberation to determine the tasks and role of the parties and bodies related to the project and directing them to the work entrusted to them and the matters entrusted to them.
    He added, "The measures taken by the Iraqi and Jordanian sides on the project were reviewed, and the proposals of the agent and consultants regarding the data and results of the ongoing discussions and discussions between the two parties were discussed, and the views and suggestions of the director of the Iraqi Jordanian Company for Industry and members of the company's board of directors regarding activating the company's role in implementing The project.”
    The minister pointed out, “The importance of revitalizing the Iraqi-Jordanian Company for Industry and participating with the Industrial Estates Authority in implementing the Economic City, as it is a joint Iraqi-Jordanian work, and the need to agree with a consulting agency or center and to seek the assistance of experts and consultants specialized in preparing feasibility studies and designs for the city.”
    Al-Khabbaz directed, “to hold an urgent meeting with the Jordanian side, in the presence of the agent, advisors, members of the adversarial committees between Iraq and Jordan, and the president and members of the Iraqi-Jordanian Company for Industry to develop a mechanism and a clear plan with specific timings and to take a consensual decision that serves the interests of the two countries,” while he directed to “form a higher committee responsible for the city.” Under his presidency and membership of the Administrative Undersecretary, consultants and general managers in the Department of Industrial Organization and Development in the Ministry, the Industrial Cities Authority, the Iraqi Geological Survey, members of the Presidency Committee, the director and members of the Board of Directors of the Iraqi Jordanian Company for Industry, and representatives from the media and relations departments in the ministry.
    The statement continued, "The Minister of Industry made a phone call with his Jordanian counterpart to set a date for a joint meeting via video call to lay the foundations and a clear and sound plan and to agree on the necessary mechanisms to proceed with the joint economic city project."
