    Yes Iraq: Baghdad

Today, Monday, the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities acknowledged that housing complex projects are not suitable for the poor and middle classes, despite it being considered one of the “solutions” to housing crises, while it reviewed 3 axes to solve the housing crisis in Iraq that are being worked on, including the “expansion” of cities by distributing land. to citizens outside the cities.
The Director General of the Planning and Follow-up Department in the ministry, Samir Ibrahim, said, “The ministry is working on three axes in the field of housing development and ending its crisis. For the citizen to take 75 million dinars without interest in return for administrative charges for one time only, with the amount being paid in installments on his salary for a period of 20 years.
Ibrahim added, "The current government granted sums to the housing sector amounting to one trillion dinars, and the number of beneficiaries reached 27 thousand people, or 27 thousand housing units were added to the population balance."
He pointed out that "the second axis is the amounts that are funded from the ministry's investment plan through the Ministry of Finance, where two projects have been completed in the governorates of Najaf and Diwaniyah, one of them is residential buildings and the other is residential houses," noting that "the third axis is represented in the Dari initiative launched by the government, which focuses on securing Residential plots served to citizens.
And he continued, "The state will allocate residential lands outside cities as new cities and urban communities integrated with electricity, water, sewage and road networks services to be distributed to citizens," explaining that "the ministry opened an electronic window for my initiative to apply through it, and 3 and a half million applications were received, and 590 were audited." A thousand transactions were received from them, 520 thousand were accepted, and 186 thousand were delivered to them.”
He explained, "The Dari project includes about 26 cities in 15 governorates, including the capital, Baghdad, with two sites. It was adopted by the Council of Ministers, with the support of all parties, and the Ministry of Construction and Housing assigned it."
He pointed out that "residential complexes are not suitable for the poor and middle classes, and the state's goal is to target the fragile and weak classes, and the basic idea is to include the poor covered by the data of the Ministry of Planning to grant land free of charge to them," noting that "the housing unit pays a premium to the covered citizens."
