Kurdistan wants to benefit from the Japanese experience by developing the economic infrastructure
Shafaq News/ The Prime Minister of Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, received today, Monday, a delegation from the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), headed by the agency's director in Iraq, Jane Yoneda.
At the beginning of the meeting, the director of JICA presented an overview of the agency’s work and projects in the Kurdistan Region, which are being implemented in coordination and cooperation with the Kurdistan Regional Government, especially in the water, sewage, electricity and agricultural sectors, in addition to providing assistance to the Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism in relation to amending the master plan for the city of Erbil. (Masterplan), to be a role model for the rest of the cities of the Kurdistan Region, in addition to contributing to the financing of the project to establish the Derlok hydroelectric station, the development of the water delivery mechanism in Halabja, the renovation of the Sulaymaniyah Museum, and other projects.
According to a statement by Barzani's office, the latter praised the work of the agency and its projects that it implements professionally, and expressed his desire to develop joint cooperation, and to benefit from Japan's experience and expertise in strengthening the economic infrastructure of the Kurdistan Region.
