A parliamentarian warns that the issue of leaking questions will be subject to a political settlement
Shafaq News/ On Friday, Nawras Mahmoud Al-Issa, a representative from the "Sovereignty" coalition, considered the crisis of leaking exam questions and its repercussions as a "shake" for the educational system and "an insult" to Iraq's reputation in scientific forums, calling for action to be taken against those involved to restore the confidence of the citizen and the student in the educational process.
Al-Issa told Shafaq News Agency, that the leakage of questions is a shock to the educational system and a new insult to Iraq's reputation at the international level, and the measures taken should be bold and resolute, and rise to the size and level of this disaster, and restore the citizen and student's confidence in the educational system.
She added that "the political deals that were taking place at the expense of the homeland and the citizen are the reason for what we have reached," warning that "this file is subject to any political settlement and the emergence of a scandal no less in size or serious than the scandal of leaking questions, and another betrayal of the future of students and the educational process."
Al-Issa stressed that the real parties involved in the scandal of the questions be revealed, the results of the procedures and investigations are announced openly and transparently before public opinion, and that the file should not be procrastinated for political reasons and partisan or factional interests.
Yesterday, Thursday, the Iraqi Ministry of Education announced the postponement of the mathematics exam for the third intermediate grade.
In a brief statement, the ministry stated that the postponement came "for urgent technical reasons related to assessment and examination work."
An informed source in the ministry told Shafaq News Agency, that the reasons for the postponement came because of the news that the exam questions had been leaked, which prompted the ministry to take this decision.
As a result, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi issued a directive to form a special investigative committee to conduct a full investigation into the leaks of ministerial exam questions.
