    National Day is celebrated throughout Canada as well as internationally
    [size=45] Canadian Ambassador to Iraq Gregory Galligan praised today, Friday, the culture of coexistence between different religions and nationalities in the Kurdistan Region.[/size]
    [size=45]And the Kurdistan Region became an example to follow in  [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] , and it gained this reputation after it turned into a haven for all racial and ethnic minorities, which sought refuge in it to escape the hell of violence in Iraq and Syria.[/size]
    [size=45]"Many ethnic and religious minorities live here peacefully in the Kurdistan Region," Galligan said in a speech during the Canadian National Day celebration.[/size]
    [size=45]The Canadian diplomat commended the support shown by the Kurdistan Regional Government with regard to the rights of religious and national components.[/size]
    [size=45]"The Kurdistan Region is an important partner for Canada," he added.[/size]
    [size=45]Unlike many countries in the region, the Kurdistan Regional Government has representatives of all religions, including Christians, Jews, Yazidis, and Zoroastrians.[/size]
    [size=45]In the Kurdistan Region, there is a majority of Muslim Kurds living side by side with a population of many religious sects and beliefs of various nationalities.[/size]
    [size=45]In his speech, Ambassador Galligan touched on the relations that bind his country with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, describing them as strong and expressing readiness to strengthen them.[/size]
    [size=45]He also addressed the political crisis in Iraq and the efforts made to form the new government, and said, "It is time to launch reconciliation and fruitful dialogue in Iraq to ensure a prosperous future for its children."[/size]
    [size=45]A number of Kurdish government officials and parliamentarians attended the Canadian Day celebration, which is celebrated on July 1 each year.[/size]
