Erbil (NINA) – Member of Kurdish Taghyeer (Change) Movement, Nariman
Abdullah, said that it is more probable that President of Kurdistan
Region, Massoud Barazani, will succeed President Jalal Talabani as
    President of Iraq.

In a statement to the press on Friday, Mar. 1,
Abdullah said that the post of Iraq's President is for the Kurds, they
have the right to nominate their own.

    He added that if Barazani
becomes President of Iraq, he needs political agreement among Kurdish
parties and understanding with the Federal Government in Baghdad.

    At
present, President Jalal Talabani is being admitted into a German
hospital after suffering a stroke on 17 December 2012; he was rushed to
the Medical City in Baghdad, then moved to a hospital in Germany under
    joint Iraqi medical team.

    According to the President's Doctor,
Najmuldeen Kareem, the President's health is progressing and he is
recuperating; while reports say that Talabani might return to Baghdad
soon, probably by the end of March. / End.
