Today, Tuesday, the Ministry of Communications identified the reasons for stopping the work of the WhatsApp application in Iraq.
The ministry's spokesman, Raad al-Mashhadani, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the defect that occurred today in stopping the work of the (WhatsApp) application was not by the Ministry of Communications," pointing out that there was a technical defect in the servers in the United States of America and Europe that led to the suspension of this system. He added, "
The defect was outside the control of the ministry, and it was fixed in less than an hour," calling on the media to adopt news from the ministry's private sources.
And the WhatsApp application returned to work again, after it was temporarily suspended, during which its users were unable to exchange messages.
The Ministry of Communications had announced that a problem with the main servers in Europe led to the suspension of WhatsApp services.
And the service was disrupted in a number of countries, including Iraq.
