Today, Friday, the Minister of Industry and Minerals, Khaled Battal Al-Najm, announced that the federal government is serious about finding solutions to the issue of border crossings, especially in the Kurdistan Region, to raise the damage to local products.
This came in a press conference he held today during his inspection of the ready-made clothing factory in Mosul, affiliated to the General Company for Textile and Leather Industries, as part of his second stop of his field visit to Nineveh Governorate.
During the conference, the minister stressed the need for a governmental and exceptional effort to remove the machinery and equipment that are still under the rubble and ensure their suitability for work, pointing to a review of some companies and industrial projects and thinking about their economic feasibility.
He emphasized the necessity of transmitting the true picture of the factory factories to send a message about the existence of some failures while giving privacy to the factories that were damaged and destroyed due to terrorism and the liberation operations.
Al-Najm noted the necessity of developing laboratories and machines with advanced technology and leaving outdated machines, diagnosing problems scientifically and statistically, developing proposed solutions, and trying to implement these solutions as soon as possible.
The minister also referred to the investigation and audit of the issue of pension arrests and the sums owed by the ministry to the Pension Department amounting to (550) billion dinars for the years from 2006 until now due to the non-delivery of the deduction percentage with an apology to the retirees and their families for this big problem.
